The Magnus Archives

“Make your statement, face your fear.” The Magnus Archives was a weekly horror fiction audiodrama podcast examining what lurks in the archives of the Magnus Institute, an organisation dedicated to researching the esoteric and the weird. Join Jonathan Sims as he explores the archive, but be warned, as he looks into its depths something starts to look back…

> I started listening to The Magnus Archives back in 2021, almost right after its five season runtime. I knew virtually nothing about it, and besides the rare occasions I'd stumble upon its tag on Tumblr, hadn't heard of its existence. To be quite honest, I didn't consider myself a podcast person back then, either (which has most certainly changed all these years later). I figured I'd give it a shot, and I could always abandon it if I didn't find any interest. I didn't expect to get so attached to it, but almost five years later, I'm glad I did.

> The Magnus Archives is a master of slow burns and interweaving plot points that sneak up on you when you least expect it; it's a show that always kept me on my toes and I often found myself frantically pouring over my memory for clues or subtly hints when events began to slowly unfold. Our main (though not only) narrator, Jonathan Sims, has a voice that often soothed me to sleep during late night binges -- only to wake me with the sweet sounds of our lovely protagonist screaming in horror as another terror made itself known. Which that did actually happen to me, quite often!

> Overwhelmingly queer, engaging, mysterious, hilarious, and sure to give you new fears or dredge up ones you never knew you had, The Magnus Archives is a gem of a podcast. I'd recommend it to anyone who loves a good, creepy listen. You can find The Magnus Archives on Youtube, Spotify or wherever else you listen to your podcasts. You can also lurk on thefan wikior check out the (unofficial)episode transcripts!
